In 2020, Trans-Space supplied and installed a Skyfold vertical retractable acoustic wall as part of the Chapman Tripp Auckland fit-out, delivered by Alaska Construction and designed by Warren and Mahoney.
This system provides a sophisticated solution for creating flexible meeting and conference spaces without compromising the architectural design of the interior.
The Skyfold system operates vertically, retracting completely into the ceiling when not required. With the wall stored away, the space remains open and unobstructed, while at the push of a button the acoustic partition descends to create a fully enclosed room.
The project demonstrates how advanced operable wall technology can be integrated into a high-end commercial environment while maintaining a clean and contemporary aesthetic.
Unlike conventional operable walls that stack to one side of a room, Skyfold disappears into the ceiling cavity, leaving the floor space completely clear. This makes it particularly well suited to conference rooms, boardrooms, training areas and other spaces where flexibility and design are equally important.
Trans-Space worked closely with the project team to coordinate the Skyfold installation and ensure the system was integrated seamlessly with the surrounding architectural elements.
